Critique Response
There were many things I learned today as my classmates critiqued my work. I realized that my piece did not convey a clear message. Therefore, I will try to work on that in the future. I also became aware of paying attention to small detail such as placing the hand of the koala on top of the candle to show it was holding on to it. All in all,  I am  glad my work brought up  a lot of conversation and I am happy with how it turned out.

Article Response

It is very interesting how  paintings such as "Cotopaxi" can easily be interpreted as a metaphor of the times of war and slavery.  Knowing the history of the time in which art is made plays a huge role into interpreting it. Before I read the article, I actually scrolled down to see how long it was. I saw the paintings. Although beautiful, I didn't think much of them. Once I read about their history, my perspective towards the paintings completely changed.
